International Business News – Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Don Tun will attend the 55th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (AMM-55) and related meetings to be held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia from August 2 to 6.
Thailand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on August 1 that foreign ministers and representatives of organizations from 39 countries are expected to attend the above-mentioned meeting.
The ASEAN foreign ministers will discuss how to promote the building of a people-centered ASEAN community; the priorities of Cambodia as this year’s ASEAN chair; and the importance of maintaining ASEAN’s centrality and unity amid regional and global uncertainties and challenges.
ASEAN Foreign Ministers will continue to closely monitor the implementation of the five-point consensus agreement reached by ASEAN leaders on April 24, 2021, and prepare for the 40th and 41st ASEAN Summits and related summits to be held in November 2022, and Exchange views on important international and regional issues.
Tun said that at various meetings, he will promote cooperation on Thailand’s Bio-Circular Green Economy (BCG) model to support a full post-pandemic recovery, as well as multilateralism and regional cooperation to address regional and global challenges.
