China remains Cambodia’s largest trading partner


International Business News  – In the first seven months of this year, Cambodia’s international trade volume reached US$32.82 billion, an increase of 21% compared with the same period in 2021. China remains Cambodia’s largest trading partner.

According to data released by the Cambodian General Administration of Customs, in the first seven months of 2022, Cambodia’s total exports were US$13.78 billion, a year-on-year increase of 30.7%; total imports were US$19.05 billion, a year-on-year increase of 15.4%.

Data shows that China is still Cambodia’s largest trading partner. During the period, the bilateral trade volume between China and Cambodia was about 6.9 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of about 15%. Among them, Cambodia’s export value to China is about 700 million US dollars, and its import value is about 6.2 billion US dollars.

The United States is Cambodia’s second largest trading partner and Cambodia’s largest export market. In the first seven months of this year, Cambodia’s exports to the United States amounted to about US$5.7 billion, a year-on-year increase of 47.3%, accounting for 43% of total exports.

Vietnam is Cambodia’s third largest trading partner, with a bilateral trade volume of about US$3.7 billion, a year-on-year increase of 22%; followed by Thailand, with a bilateral trade volume of about US$2.7 billion, a year-on-year increase of 26%.

The data also shows that in the first half of this year, Cambodia’s customs tax revenue reached 1.3 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 12%.

It should be mentioned that products such as clothing, footwear and travel goods account for nearly 50% of Cambodia’s total exports.
