International Business News – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was denied a speech at the MERCOSUR summit, Paraguay News Agency quoted Paraguay’s Deputy Minister of Economy and Integration Raul Cano Riccardi as saying.
He said the Ukrainian president made the request to Paraguayan President Mario Abdo Benitez but was rejected.
There is no consensus on the possibility of such communication, the report said. Zelensky was told that there were no conditions for “being able to talk to the Ukrainian president at the MERCOSUR summit.” The deputy minister said the decision was communicated to the Ukrainian ambassador to Argentina.
Founded in 1991, Mercosur is the largest economic integration organization in South America and the world’s first common market entirely composed of developing countries. Its founding members include Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay.
